Facebook has removed 15 million videos in New Zealand attacks

Facebook claims that 1.5 million videos of New York's Christchurch Mosque have been removed.

Facebook claims that 1.5 million videos of New York's Christchurch Mosque have been removed.

On Friday, during the Friday prayers at Christchurch, 50 people were killed and 34 injured in the attack on the mosque. Brendan Taylor's attacker has streamed the entire attack with a camera mounted on his helmet.

Shortly after the attack, the video spread to Facebook.
"In the first 24 hours, we removed 15 million videos of attacks worldwide, and 1.2 million videos were blocked during upload," said a tweet post on Facebook.

In the mosque alone, 50 people were shot dead and torrents. The entire attack was streamed live for 17 minutes. There are still some copies of it available in social media.
The social media also said that all the edited versions of the video were being removed.

New Zealand's Chief Minister Jasdinda O'Doururn has also said that he wants to talk to the public about live streaming, reports the report.
